For the past seven years Bytel has produced Motorola radio interfaces for Whelen Siren Systems.
Bytel now offers interfaces for all FM bands, conventional, analog, and digital trunked.
Bytel provides the Whelen Outdoor Warning System provider and user the
option of using Motorola radios in Whelen Siren System. When new sirens
are ordered from Whelen, Bytel can provide interface boards for
Whelen's WPS, IPS, SIPS and SAMI. Bytel also provides interfaces for
older existing Whelen systems.
The radio shown in the pictures above is a Motorola CP200. It is
available in a wide range of business and government bands.
The CP200's scan feature allows a siren or a hole system to be activated from more than one frequency.
The CP200 has programmable bandwidth (25 or 12.5kc) and unlike other radios it
offers superb receive audio quality (a real issue during public
address). This is no accident; Motorola went the extra mile in
providing a system wide audio compression and expansion methodology
specifically for narrow band operation (originally deployed on 900mhz
trunking). Narrow banding is a big issue in all of our futures and
Motorola has developed the best. The CP200 radio, in combination with
this new generation Bytel interface board, is a "drop-in" communications
alternative for both new and existing Whelen Outdoor Warning Systems.
Bytel works with Whelen Outdoor Warning System
distributors, other Motorola dealers, and their customers, to provide
cost effective warning system solutions.
